I have already addressed how to update your Facebook status from Twitter, but in the comments I was asked if you could do the opposite – update Twitter from Facebook. Yes You can!

There is a Facebook application called fb2twitter that will automate the process. The application is not fool-proof but it commands a pretty decent user feedback rating. Read up on the user comments if you have any issues.

Here’s another way to do it:

Log into Facebook.

Click this link: http://www.new.facebook.com/minifeed.php?filter=11

You should get a page that looks like this:

facebook-feed1

On the bottom right-hand side you will see Subscribe to these Stories:

facebook-feed2

You want to save the address under My Status. That’s the RSS feed information we are going to give to TwitterFeed. So right click on My Status and copy the URL or click My Status and save the URL address from your browser.

Mine looks like this:

http://www.new.facebook.com/feeds/status.php?id=709745864&viewer=709745864&key=6673382bb3&format=rss20

Now head over to TwitterFeed and create an account or login (I just used my Google account information to sign in.).

Once signed in to TwitterFeed, create a new feed and you’ll get this screen:

twitterfeed

Username and Password? Whatever you use to log into Twitter.

RSS Feed URL? That’s the address we got from Facebook.

Update Frequency? 20 minutes? 60 minutes? How often do you update Facebook?

Prefix each tweet with? Maybe “Via Facebook” or just leave it blank!

    1. Thanks for this post. Been looking everywhere for a proper way to do this. The official Twitter app on facebook doesn't even do it.

    2. This is great. Thanks.

    3. I can't find the feed.. Its just not there :S

    4. Me neither :(

    5. no minifeed–it directs to just feed instead, and i don't see a Subscribe to these stories box either. :(

    6. There is a feed for the Notes…but I don't believe there is one for the Wall posts anymore. Will keep looking.

    7. hmm… I already use that twitter feed. How come I forgot about it!

    8. seems like this feed is no more working also FB2twitter is also disabled.

is FB really opening up or closing down!

    9. Yes, it seems that facecock has decided to disable their RSS feeds too…

    10. this is so stupid, i have a nokia, so u can add contacts to your home screen and thenn add a feed, but now i cant get the feeds of my friends

    11. With the new interface, you have to go to your notifications to subscribe to your feed, then in the URL, change the word from notification to status.

      Here's mine.

      Good Luck!

    12. I cannot open it. it seems no longer valid.

    13. This doesn't work either. I've changed notifications to status, to minifeed, I've taken out feeds as well and tried a few options.

    14. i do not find the page like that…

    15. This doesn't work for me, either. Is there another way to do it?
