Anyone know how to get rid of the drop down calendar now? It worked for a month or so and now when I open my files including the ones it worked fine in, the box contains a large red X and I can't do anything with it. Even in Design mode, I cannot select the box and delete it. HELP, please!

You're probably using a different version of Windows and/or Excel than the people on this forum.

What worked for me, step-by-step for people as lost as I was ...

(1) I'm running Windows 7 (64-bit) and Excel 2010 (32-bit) ... rumor has it Excel 2010 (64-bit) simply doesn't have a solution.
(2) Download the .CAB file, unzip it and place the file "MSCOMCT2.OCX" in the folder "C:WindowssysWOW64" if you're running Windows 7 (64-bit) or place it in the folder "C:WindowsSystem32" if you're running Windows (32-bit). You'll get a prompt that you need to be an Administrator, accept all of that.
(3) Click the Start-Menu, where it says "Search Programs and Files" in the little search form at the bottom of the start menu, type "cmd" ... right click on the icon and select "Run as Administrator"
(4) Now you'll have a command line opened, type "cd WindowssysWOW64" if you're using Windows 7 (64-bit) or type "cd Windowssystem32" if you're using a 32-bit version of windows. Press Enter.
(5) type "regsvr32 MSCOMCT2.OCX", press Enter.
(6) You should be all set ... just go back to Excel, click your Developer tab, click "Insert" ... "More Controls" (icon in the bottom right of the box)
(7) Select "Microsoft Date & Time Picker" out of the menu.

Hopefully this helps someone

I'm running Windows 7 (64-bit) and Excel 2010 (32-bit).

I followed the instructions on this page: <a href="http://www.rondebruin.nl/calendar.htm" rel="nofollow">http://www.rondebruin.nl/calendar.htm</a>

Apparently if you are using Excel 2010 (64-bit), you can't use this solution.

(1) I downloaded MSCAL.OCX <a href="http://(http://www.gmayor.com/Zips/MSCAL.zip)" rel="nofollow">(http://www.gmayor.com/Zips/MSCAL.zip)</a>
(2) Unzipped and followed the directions in "Installation instructions for mscal.pdf"

I don't know if this is the tool you're all talking about, but it seems to solve the issue I've been having.
