How To Make Google Calendar Sync Work With Microsoft Outlook 2010

How To Make Google Calendar Sync Work With Microsoft Outlook 2010

If you use Google Calendar sync and have upgraded to Microsoft Office 2010 you’ve no doubt discovered that the two don’t work together. Here’s the world’s easiest fix:

  1. Download this file: GoogleCalendarSync.zip
  2. Unzip it
  3. Go to C:\Program Files\Google\Google Calendar Sync
  4. Rename GoogleCalendarSync.exe to OLDGoogleCalendarSync.exe
  5. Move the new GoogleCalendarSync file to this folder.
  6. Launch  Goggle Calendar Sync.exe
  7. Fixed.

In the simplest of terms, the latest version of the Sync.exe file reads the version of Microsoft Outlook differently from the way the older version of the same file does. We are simply replacing the latest version of the file with a slightly older one.

UPDATE 17Aug: Google has released an update that should work with the 32 bit version of Outlook 2010

Thank you for another informative web site. Where else could I get that type of info written in such a perfect way? I have a project that I’m just now working on, and I have been on the look out for such info.

I have at least one problem with Calendar Sync. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook and Calendar sync. With Outlook ON I get an error 2146959355 (I have tried the suggested fix of removing folder 9.3 in the Registry). with Outlook OFF I get TWO identical messages "No Microsoft Outlook profiles have been created. In Windows …. go To Mail in control panel and add". I have tried adding a new profile and also removing and re-configuring the existing Outlook profile. Behind these two messages, I also get an error 2006. Outlook seems OK for email in and out. I don't know what to try and would appreciate any advice. Thanks

Started recently to get the Google Calendar Popup requesting Profile. Followed your instructions to the “T”, but still getting the “choose profile” window every 10 min (the sync interval).
